THE AWESOME COFFEE
EXPERIENCE (VOL I & II)

TEAM EVENT
DESIGN THINKING
2-3 HOURS
IN-HOUSE
6-60 PERSONS

"This event impressively demonstrates a major source of project failure. Each manager should have experienced this! It’s funny and really surprising.“

S. LEHMANN, Strategic Marketing and Research, TOTAL France

"I organized an in-house Coffee Experience, because I wanted to raise awareness concerning the typical blind spots within our PM community.“

M. HORLEBEIN, Senior Vice President, Veridos GmbH

"Insightful and very entertaining. In two hours, this format offers more insights into project management than many other PM training formats."

DR. C. WARGITSCH, Managing Partner & CEO, Wargitsch & Comp. AG

WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE PART?

It's eye-opening! IN this high-energy event, you will learn about the errors in perception which are just human in the start-up stage of any ambitious project - and how to avoid them. You can self-test your modes of thought and identify possible blind spots. Based on this, you will understand cognitive biases that result from fast and intuitive thinking (which is the default mode in any efficiency-driven organization). Furthermore, you will immediately recognize the value of design-thinking! Get the idea what customer-orientation in projects really means and how you can make it happen. And most important: you will gain memorable moments full of fun and positive energy.

WHAT IS "THE AWESOME COFFEE EXPERIENCE"?

It’s a playful challenge for teams (of 6 or more persons). The goal of the challenge is to collaboratively design a specific project. This project is called the “awesome coffee experience”. A team needs to figure out all relevant aspects that are important to know before the project is “ready to be started”. This takes 45 minutes. The entire session including presentation and reflection takes 120 minutes (could be extended to 3 hours).

AGENDA

- 015 min INTRO & INSTRUCTION

We re-think projects! For this, we connect deep expertise in leadership and management with stories, wisdom, and modes of thought from other disciplines like sports, psychology, design, theatre and the arts. By this, we aim to provide the most valuable knowledge for anyone, who faces complex projects and is looking for hands-on tools. We are offering handbooks, toolkits, and very effective help for all project makers, movers and shakers. Our motto is “simple but powerful – demystified and buzzword-free”.
